5 Embarrassing Songs

I’ve been tagged by Willow to list five songs that I am embarrassed
to admit to actually enjoying. This will forever humiliate me but here goes!

The rules:
1. Post the link to the person who tagged you and post the
rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others that
you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post.

( In no particular order)

1. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang- I sing this song to my kids and get so tickled because it's so silly but lots of fun.

2. Oompa Loompa Theme- Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory- I don't know why but this song enters my head at the most bizarre times.

3. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go-Wham!- I know! I can hear the laughter in the Blogosphere right now!

4. Baby I'm A Want You- Bread (Actually, the title is more embarrassing than the song.)

5. Pop! Goes My Heart( Fictional song performed by Hugh Grant in the movie Music and Lyrics...) I can't help it! I love this cheesy song...( Click on the song title to watch the hysterical video on You Tube..)

OK...Now, I'm tagging some others....

I'm tagging:

1. Kalianne at Bygone Beauty
2. Natalie at Zip Zip Vintage Sewing
3. MMM at Steamed Sponge
4. Lavinia at Birdbath Chronicles
5. Marie Antoinette at Dolls by Marie Antoinette
6. Pamela at House of Edward
7. Dee Dee at Love White Linen

Willow and Betsy, I've been laughing all afternoon...If you haven't seen the video of the Hugh Grant song(which you probably already know that he is actually singing), click on the link and you'll see what I mean. It's hysterical but I can't help but sing this song every time I hear it...I also love the duet he did with Drew Barrymore , "Way Back Into Love"..And don't get me started on the Wham! song..I wore the "Make It Big" cassette out back in high school:-)....

Dee Dee...You are very busy! Our women's group at church is also participating in the Beth Moore simulcast...I can't make it, though.

I have to admit i still like that Bread song. My mother had the album adn I'd steal it away a few times to listen to them.

BTW, Rebecca, I thought you were someone else when I saw your avatar had changed!

I'm not sure I can do this because I can't think of any songs I "used" to like. If I liked them once I probably still do. the only thing would be disco--Bee Gees might be a little embarrassing to admit but hey, I can still groove when I hear Night Fever!

Darn, I wrote a great long note and lost it! As I was saying your choices have me in stitches. I had forgotten how funny the Hugh Grant video was. I'm A Want You is a stone gold classic...love it! I've never heard the Wham song...almost as funny as Pop Goes My Heart.

Thanks for sharing your great list.

MMM, I'm a Bee Gees fan, too...I had the biggest crush on Robin Gibb and had tons of posters of them and Andy Gibb on my bedroom walls. I don't think they have to be songs that you used to like but can be songs that you still like but may seem embarrassing...Hence, the Wham! song..LOL!!!

Steviewren,

LOL!! My son is going to scream if I don't stop playing that Youtube clip of the Hugh Grant video...When I first saw that movie my husband told me it sounded like something I would've liked in the 80's! LOL!! He's so right! He was listening the "hair bands" like Ratt and Poison and I was into the second British Invasion( Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, U2..Etc...)Oh..a fun trip down memory lane....

Hi Rebecca....wow, I can't believe you admit to #4....ha ha ha....

Take heart, I like chitty chitty and Wake me Up Before you Go-go too. In fact, Wake me up is one of the best songs to do housework too, as it has a jivey beat that gets you energetically going....

Thanks for tagging me, I am going to post my own list very shortly....

Dear Rebecca,

Hooray, you love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too! It's a great song.

My favorites that it makes me blush to admit? Well, that one, and Soft Cell's version of Tainted Love, and the Rubber Ducky song from Sesame Street (the poor boys hear the same lines from it every day), and that "We Don't Need No Education" song by Pink Floyd, and just about any broody, dark, scratchy song by Bush. I am a closet Grunge and post-Grunge addict :}
