USEFUL TIPS FOR THE PERFECT CUP OF TEA

1.Use a good quality loose leaf or bagged tea.

2.This must be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature.

3.Always use freshly drawn boiling water.

4.In order to draw the best flavour out of the tea the water must contain oxygen, this is reduced if the water is boiled more than once.

5.Measure the tea carefully.

6.Use 1 tea bag or 1 rounded teaspoon of loose tea for each cup to be served.

7.Allow the tea to brew for the recommended time before pouring

I purchased some wonderful Cherry Rose Tea last weekend and enjoyed a wonderful cup this afternoon. The aromatic infusion of cherry and rose petals was heavenly.

My beloved morning coffee was recently put aside for tea, for health reasons, and I am not as disappointed as I expected! In fact, I really do look forward to my morning cup. Thanks for your tea tips! :)

Willow, that's a difficult transition so my hat is off to you. I'm glad you found it easier than you feared. You know, I still love coffee but not nearly as much as tea. I think much of it has to do with the history and ritual involved with tea. I'm big on ritual so having and planning teas is probably fueling that bit of my personality and make-up.

Enjoy your cuppa this morning!

Blessings....

Good morning Rebecca...I do enjoy a nice cup of tea. I try to always make it a special time of relaxation during the day. The Cherry Rose Tea sounds delicious...did you purchase it at a tea shop? Or..someplace I might find it. Love the music....have a perfect weekend...Dee Dee

Good morning DeeDee...I found the tea at Franklin Tea, a very small little tea shop. I'm not sure if they have a web site but their number is 615-794-6311. It's an infusion of green tea with dried rose petals and cherry bits. It's so smooth and tastes wonderful.

I'm a big proponent on chamomile tea; its so good for upset tummies, and very soothing overall. Tea infused with cherry and rose petals sounds like it would give off a heavenly fragrance. Thanks for these tips; here's another: if you put honey in your tea, my father says the metal of the spoon must never touch the honey. I shall have to find out why...

Rebecca,
Although I'm a devout coffee drinker, I do have my little tea pot that was my mother's. It sits out on my kitchen counter on a tray with a cup and an unmatched saucer. I do enjoy a good cup of tea now and then. I appreciate your post on tea making.
Have a great week! I plan to. I love my job! :-)

Bachelor,

Thank you. I love coffee, too. The hardest thing I had to do when I was pregnant with my children was to virtually cut out coffee and tea. That was awful!

Do you have a picture of your mother's Tea Pot?
