CREATIVE TUESDAY: PURE IMAGINATION

(Past Dreams - paper cutting-pen and ink)

For this Creative Tuesday theme, Pure Imagination, I decided to try another paper cutting. First, I sketched the figure and then cut the paper from the drawing( using it as a template)..I discovered mid-way through that I really needed sharper scissors ...You live and you learn, though, right? I added an Art Nouveau-inspired design and then some outling(dots) around the figure and the decorative design with my trusty Faber Castell pen.

Dreaming or a euphoric dream-state was sort of the motivator for this one. Well, that and studying Pre-Raphaelite art for the last several months for a writing project.

So delicate and lovely. You can tell you've been inspired by art nouveau and your art history! You must be one incredibly patient woman, surely, to cut all that out?!! :) Thank you so much for adding your lot this time around. I'm sure everyone else will love it too. OK, adding it now.

BTw, i love how you add those little dots to give that little bit of unexpected and detail to the whole piece. Wonderful.

Oh my goodness, this is stunning. You have an incredible talent.
The forms and the design remind me more of the Art Nouveau actually.;)
Lovely!

Well Calvin did't make it. Don't know why. The weather for Memorial
Day in Maine is the very best. It's such a delight. Your cut out silhouette is wonderful. I assume you took a class for that. Have a great Memorial Day.
