CREATIVE TUESDAYS: SNACK

It's a new week and another CT offering for this summer. The theme for this one was snack. I snack on chex mix but didn't feel inspired to draw that. However, I also love to snack on fruit and figured a couple of Bing cherries might work well for this. I used pen and ink again, my current favorite medium, and drew and shaded with stippling. There's some line drawing found around the stems and the form of the cherries. It's fun to alternate from line to stippling to give it a bit more depth and to play with the values in an unusual way.

Make sure to check out all the CT entries and look for the montage this week to see what the new theme will be.

Happy snacking!

--No, i shouldn;t imagine it would really, REbecca. LOL. Oh dear me. Hahahaha. that is so funny. Anyway...

lovely 2d looking illustration here. Wonderful to have these sort of effect thrown into the mix. It will be a good addition to the montage i will put up tomorrow along with a link back here as well as to the other contributing members. Please check back then too.

I can only imagine this took you ages to do so thank you very much for taking the time. This piece could be found in in scientific botanical illustration book, don't you think? :)

Thanks, everyone! You're all so kind.

Mr Toast, they're 4 lads (well not lads anymore)from Manchester. Quite popular across the pond... :). The song is a few years old and was played during the end credits of the movie Stardust.

Very nice Rebecca.I love the shadows. They look 3D! Since I'm new at this, should I explain my medium and how I did the painting?

I really like your explanation!

how wonderfully done, I didn't think they would cherries but it's probably because of the black and white

thanks for describing how you achieved your effect. I love cherries to begin with, but they actually look deeply red to me, just with pen and ink and the stippling effect.
