To help endure the bleak rainy day we're having....

I wanted to offer a glimpse of the opulence of the Grand Dame of The Gilded Age, Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. These photos were taken a few years ago on our first Tea Society Weekend getaway and my goodness what a wonderful time that was! We were wined and dined at The Historic Beaufort House Victorian Inn http://www.beauforthouse.com/index.htm. And what a surprise it was to arrive on the day of a wedding under the Wisteria laden pergola in the garden. We had a wonderful unobtrusive view from the white rocking chairs on the front porch. Besides the wedding party, who certainly made themselves scarce, we felt as though we had the run of the Inn. I would love to be there right now!

I am very much enjoying my visit to your beautiful blog! I visited the Biltmore Estate several years ago and it was amazing...will have to plan another trip. Did you know that parts of the movie "The Swan" with Grace Kelley were filmed there? Your music is so lovely!!!!! I'll be back soon for another visit. So nice to meet you! ~Willow

Good Saturday morning, Willow!

Thank you for your kind comments. You are most welcome here!

You know, I had forgotten that "The Swan" was filmed there. I need to put that movie on my library list. I am aching to go back for another visit. The last time we were there I remember a woman standing in line to enter the house say that she would pay them to work there!~That sounds like something I would say~... What time of year did you go? Christmas there is absolute bliss!

Blessings,
R
