CREATIVE TUESDAY: CHEERIO-EARRING

“Cheerio-earring”

Ah…here’s my Creative Tuesday offering this week. My gold hoop earrings served as the source of inspiration. I drew a line drawing of an ear and then used a stippling effect/technique ( simply to draw by means of dots or small touches)to add values and shading. My weapon of choice was a trusty Faber-Castell PITT artist's pen…My son got quite a chuckle out of this, but I think it made my daughter hungry as she’s been asking for cheerios all morning…

Interesting picture, love the technique. I like particularly the hair on top of the ear.;) Makes me think this is a mans ear.;) Like a pirate, with a cheerio earring.;)
Have a great day,
xo

Zuzana, you are very observant! It was my son's ear, actually. He doesn't have an earring though..LOL!! You know, I did recently read something on Pirates and Buccanneers; I guess that was bubbling beneath the surface..

Very nicely done! And quite imaginative! A pirate with a cheerio earring wouldn't be able to keep Polly on his shoulder, now, would he!? LOL!

wow, great attention to detail. Very nicely done. I would think an ear would be very difficult to draw, but I see here that you have a great artist's eye and can bring your work alive. The Bach

This is a great idea! A cheerio is the perfect size for a gold hoop earring. And your drawing is perfection : )

Hahha. Like LadyCat said, it is the perfect size for an earring. You have so much attention to detail here and can't believe you did this all with a stipple effect and pen!! Whoa. Painstaking I imagine but very well done indeed! Thank you so much Rebecca for your contribution. Excellent. Another entry into the quarterly drawing, to boot.

Well it might be very edible to some, but err as it's a guy's ear, no, no, don't think so, really don't. LOL! :)

Sorry I didn't post this earlier as I have had a rather nuissant back today.

Sounds like a neat art technique that I do not know how to do. A great idea. Saw it yesterday and forgot to comment. It is so cold here I just stay huddled up on the couch reading.

Hello, Rebecca! So nice to visit your cozy blog. I love it! And the cheerio illustration is great! I too was thinking it was perhaps a pirate's ear ring. Great job!

Happy Wednesday,
Jen

Stippling takes a lot of patience. Rather unexpected subject matter, too.
Nicely done!

You're quite an artist! Many avoid drawing an ear! Yours is very nice!
